Shermco Canada is looking for a driven, safety-focused Breaker Shop Technician to join our growing Saskatchewan Shop Services team in Saskatoon, SK. If you enjoy hands-on technical work and want to build a long-term career with an industry leader, this is your opportunity.

 

Our Saskatchewan Shop Services team delivers high-quality electrical equipment maintenance and remanufacturing, custom panel fabrication and wiring, and CWB-certified metal fabrication and welding. We proudly serve clients across industries such as Utilities, Mining, Oil & Gas, Technology, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Remanufacture, overhaul, rebuild, retrofit, troubleshoot, test, service, repair, teardown and assembly of breakers, contactors, panels, switchgear and electrical apparatus, including but not limited to:
    • Low, medium and high voltage circuit breakers, including but not limited to manufactures such as GE, Westinghouse, Powell, ABB, ITE, Eaton etc.
    • Low, medium and high voltage switchgear
    • Low, medium and high voltage panels, MCC’s, contactors, electrical apparatus and components
  • General housekeeping duties including but not limited to sweeping, organizing, inventorying and maintaining workspace, breaker shop designated area and related assets.
  • Develop hands-on experience and proficiency through on-the-job and training and experience.
  • Perform all duties to a level of competency expected of a Breaker Shop Technician.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum high school diploma required.
  • Background in a relatable trade such as Mechanic, Electrician and/or Industrial Mechanic is considered an asset.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production assembly/disassembly is considered an asset.
  • Industrial safety training and certifications are considered an asset.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract required.
  • Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects as required.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
